Tenaya Creek Tandem Double IPA in Vancouver BC

For some people, it’s simply go big or go home. So when a craft brewery from Las Vegas, Nevada decides to brew a limited release beer, do you think they’re going to brew a wimpy, session-able, English IPA? NO! They’re going to brew a 9% ABV, Double IPA. Well, what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas after all because the Tenaya Creek Tandem Double IPA is now available in BC!

The Tandem Double IPA is one drinkable double IPA. It’s DANGEROUSLY drinkable. It’s one of those beers if you drink carelessly, you may wake up in front of the Mandalay Bay with no money in your pockets and a Mike Tyson tattoo on your face. Well, maybe that’s too extreme. However, this does not taste like it’s 9% ABV. As hoppy as it is, there’s no astringency and it’s not a palate wrecker either. It’s big and full of flavour but smooth.

The Tenaya Creek Tandem Double IPA has a floral, grapefruit-y, candy-like nose with a hint of pine. It has a floral, piney, grapefruit and mandarin orange flavour with a hint of caramel. It has a smooth bitter finish and as full-bodied as it is, it’s rather bright.

Overall the Tandem Double IPA is one smooth criminal. On a scale of 1 to 10, we rate this be an absolute f$@k yeah! It is available on tap at St. Augustine’s, Alibi Room, Pumphouse Pub, Hog Shack and Uli’s Restaurant. You can find bottles of this beer in most craft beer forward private liquor stores around Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, and Victoria BC.

Cheers!
